Purpose

Explicitly specifying the risks for the total test process, improving the client’s and other stakeholders’ understanding of the risks for the test process and enabling them to take them into account in the management of the total process.

Main Description

Method of operation

In executing previous activities, the test manager obtained a picture of the (im)possibilities for the test process, but also of threats and risks. The master test plan indicates, for each risk, whether, and if yes, which, countermeasures have been taken to cover or mitigate the detected risk. Think of preventative
measures to avoid risks, but possibly also of detection measures to detect problems in time or corrective measures to solve the consequences.

A description of the detected (test) process risks and possible countermeasures, laid down in the master test plan.
